#HackYourMorning #4: Find A Chair And A Corner
Mornings can be tough to master, but there are so many great things that can spawn from a well oiled morning routine. I've talked about quiet time previously and we've glossed over it as meditation and reading time, but it all rolls together and it can be different for everyone. The key is to find what works for YOU.
Getting up earlier helps to make the moments that give you some quiet, alone time. It even helps to pick out a space specifically for this morning ritual. For me, I've got an old chair in my basement/office that is by a window. I've had this chair for 10 years and there's just something about it that makes me comfortable. This is my meditation and reading spot. When I sit down there and pull a blanket over me, my mind and body knows what is about to happen and it becomes a focused activity. And it is so helpful.
It doesn't take a lot of time, energy or money to do this. But it does take intention. You will not find the time to do something like this. You have to make the time. And you can do it. And you won't miss those few minutes of sleep as much as you think you will. I promise.
